WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE 2010 OC MUSIC AWARDS

It has been almost one month since the 2010 Awards night at Grove of Anaheim, and people are still buzzing about the category winners, stand-out performances, and most notably how a sense of camaraderie was ignited within the local music scene. Like no other event in Orange County, the Awards brings together brand new bands, up and coming artists about to break, chart-topping legends, respected music industry members and community leaders for a season of music and honors in efforts to further the success of local music.

ALBUM REVIEW | “SOUNDS PEOPLE CAN HEAR”
Artist: The New Limb

Recent recipients of the title Best Indie in the 2010 OC Music Awards The New Limb are poised to release their new album “Sounds People Can Hear.” I write this in between their album listening party held last Friday at the band’s communal home “The Bird House” and the record release show coming up this Saturday at the Anaheim HOB.

Song Review

SONG REVIEW | “EL CAPITAN”
Artist: The Steelwells

The Steelwells had a big night at the 2010 OC Music Awards taking home honors for Best New Artist and Best Song for “El Capitan” off of “Shallow on the Draft” released in October of 2009. “El Capitan” engages the listener in seconds flat with a contagious chorus of “Weeehhheeeehhheeeheee”, which rhythmically reoccurs throughout the track like waves gently rolling across open water.
